FrameDay — Privacy Policy
Effective: October 29, 2026 · Published by SMARTNESS HOME. Current TestFlight beta 0.1.0 (2); remote community backend unconfigured; local photo-editing and export only, with Google test advertising.
The beta keeps photo drafts and edits on this phone. Its community server is not connected. Google’s test-ad SDK and messages you choose to email are separate processing.
Who we are and the version this policy covers
FrameDay is published by SMARTNESS HOME, SAS (French simplified joint-stock company), whose registered office is 5 rue Agrippa d’Aubigné, 91090 Lisses, France. Contact for support and privacy: contact@smartnesshome.com.
This policy describes the current FrameDay TestFlight beta, version 0.1.0, build 2. Its online community backend is not connected. Photos, captions, reactions, reports and removal requests cannot be submitted to a FrameDay community server in this version. The available photo-editing and export features work with local app storage.
Google advertising services and any email you choose to send us are separate from that local photo storage. We will update this policy before introducing a connected community or changing how app content is processed.
Purposes and choices
The local information listed in this policy is used on your device to provide the features you choose. You do not have to email us or create an account to use those local features. If you voluntarily email us, SMARTNESS HOME receives your email address, message and any information you include so it can handle and answer your request. Please include only information needed for that request.
Google’s advertising and measurement processing is separate from your local app content. Advertising choices and any consent used for personalization or tracking are managed through the controls described in this policy and Google’s own information. An operating-system permission and a consent form are separate choices; refusing tracking does not remove the local app features.
Information kept on your phone
FrameDay does not require an account, password, email address or phone number to use its local features. The app may keep the following in its own storage on your device:
- Photos you select or take for a draft, crop and frame choices, draft captions or display names, download preferences, and local copies of images.
- Cached feeds, recently viewed items, local upload-queue records, appearance and other preferences, and ad-frequency or bonus-frame counters.
- A random anonymous installation credential in the phone’s secure storage, if one has previously been created. It is separate from your device’s advertising identifier.
- Optional aggregate usage counts, only if you enable them, as described below.
Photo permissions and sharing
Choose from library opens the system photo picker. FrameDay receives the photo you select rather than permission to browse your whole library. Take photo asks for camera permission when you use that option. You can decline camera access and select an existing image instead.
Saving an exported image asks for add-only access to Photos. Sharing opens the operating system’s share sheet with the image you choose. The receiving app or service then handles that shared copy under its own policies. FrameDay can tell that the share sheet was opened, but does not know whether you actually posted the image.
Saving or sharing an image does not upload it to a FrameDay server. The app does not request contacts, precise-location or microphone permissions. Copies you save to Photos or send to another app are separate from FrameDay’s local app storage.
Optional usage counts and diagnostics
Anonymous usage counts are off by default in Settings. If enabled, the app batches simple totals such as an image export or opening the share sheet. These batches do not contain a photo, caption, post ID or installation credential. No analytics endpoint is connected in this beta, so those counts are not delivered to SMARTNESS HOME. Turning the setting off deletes the pending batch.
FrameDay has no active app analytics or crash-reporting service by default. This is separate from diagnostics processed by Google’s advertising SDK.
Advertising and your privacy choices
This beta uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) and Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP). It is configured to request Google test ads. Test ads still use Google’s SDK and can involve network requests and processing of device, advertising and technical information.
Depending on your device settings and choices, Google may process your IP address, approximate location inferred from it, device or advertising identifiers, ad views and interactions, and SDK diagnostics. These support ad delivery, measurement, security and fraud prevention; permitted advertising identifiers may also be used for personalized advertising. Google’s processing and retention are explained at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and https://policies.google.com/privacy.
After the introduction, the app requests Google’s consent information and displays a consent form when required and available for the app. Ads are requested only when Google’s consent status permits it. On iPhone, Apple’s tracking permission is requested before the ads SDK starts; allowing tracking is optional. You can change the tracking permission in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Settings → Ad privacy choices appears when Google requires a privacy-options entry point. It reopens Google’s available choices. You can also use the advertising privacy controls in your device settings. Declining tracking does not prevent you from using the app’s other features.
FrameDay does not add your photos, captions, display names, local drafts or anonymous installation credential to ad requests as targeting information. Its ad requests contain no app-provided keywords or content URLs.
Keeping and deleting local data
Drafts, preferences and other local records remain in app storage until you remove or reset them, or that storage is cleared. Cache housekeeping can remove old entries: feed-cache records become eligible after seven days, and temporary export/download files after 24 hours. Cleanup runs when the app is running; these are not promises of deletion at an exact wall-clock time.
The controls below affect FrameDay’s own copies. They do not remove images already saved in Photos, copies sent to another service, information processed by Google, or messages you emailed to us.
- My Photos → draft → Delete removes that draft and its app-stored source files.
- My Photos → Delete local copy removes that local image copy; it is a different action from removing a public post. This beta has no connected public-post service.
- Settings → Clear cached feeds and images clears cached feeds, recently viewed records and the image cache; drafts and local post records are left in place.
- Settings → Reset anonymous ID removes the app’s stored installation credential when that control is available. It does not erase previously shared copies. Do not rely on reinstalling the app alone to reset secure storage.
- Settings → Anonymous usage counts → off removes pending usage-count batches.
Contact, requests and changes
If you email contact@smartnesshome.com, we receive your email address, message and any information you choose to include so we can handle your request. Please avoid sending sensitive information or other people’s information that is unnecessary for your request.
For privacy questions or requests relating to information we hold, contact contact@smartnesshome.com or write to SMARTNESS HOME, 5 rue Agrippa d’Aubigné, 91090 Lisses, France. Local app controls described above let you manage data stored on your own phone; Google’s policies and privacy controls apply to information processed by its advertising services.
Questions about an image you have shared elsewhere should also be directed to the service holding that copy. Connected posting and community moderation are not available in this beta. If these features are introduced, the policy will be updated before their activation.
Your privacy rights and how to exercise them
Where applicable data-protection law gives you these rights, you may request access to personal information about you, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, or restriction of its use. You may object to processing where that right applies, and request a portable copy where the legal conditions for portability are met. These rights have conditions and exceptions; they are not a promise that every record must be erased in every situation.
Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before you withdrew it. Use the available Ad privacy choices or Privacy & ad choices entry in Settings for Google’s consent tools, and the operating system’s tracking controls for Apple’s tracking permission.
To exercise a right relating to information SMARTNESS HOME holds, email contact@smartnesshome.com or write to SMARTNESS HOME, 5 rue Agrippa d'Aubigné, 91090 Lisses, France. Tell us which app and request you mean. We do not hold a remote copy of the local app content described here. To manage information on your phone, use the app controls described above. Contacting us does not upload the database from your phone.
For information Google processes for its own advertising services, use Google’s privacy information and controls linked below, or contact Google through those services. Changing an ad choice or deleting local app data does not itself delete information Google previously received.
You may lodge a complaint with the French data-protection authority, the CNIL, at https://www.cnil.fr/fr/plaintes, or with another competent supervisory authority. The CNIL website explains the relevant complaint procedure. You can also contact us if you would like help with a privacy concern.
