Reporting a problem
So we can reproduce it rather than guess, tell us in your first message:
- your device and OS version (for example, iPhone 14, iOS 18.5);
- what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead — the screen name helps (Plan, Recipe, Shopping list, Account).
Please do not send screenshots containing anything personal — we do not need them, and we would rather not hold them.
How are the prices worked out?
They are estimates, not a live feed from the shop you go to. Easy Mart prices each ingredient from a representative US shelf price and then applies a per-chain index, so the same basket comes out cheaper at a discounter and dearer at a premium grocer. Real prices move by location, by week, by promotion and by pack size.
That is also why the shopping list quotes a range rather than a single figure: shelf pack sizes rarely match what a recipe needs, so the app shows a low and a high estimate and leaves pantry staples you probably already own out of the total. Treat the budget as a planning tool, never as a quotation — your receipt will differ. If the week cannot be built inside your budget, the app says so and shows you the cheapest week it can build instead of quietly overspending.
How does the app handle allergies?
Every ingredient in the catalogue is classified once, centrally, and a recipe's allergens are derived from the ingredients it calls for — a dish can never claim to be free of something it contains. Tick what you avoid in Preferences (dairy, eggs, gluten, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, fish, shellfish, sesame, mustard) and every recipe containing it is left out of the plan and out of the list. Budget pressure can bend a portion size or a protein target; it never touches this.
It is a convenience, not a guarantee. The app cannot know what a manufacturer changed in a product, what the specific brand on your shelf contains, what a facility cross-contaminates with, or what happens in your own kitchen. Always read the label on what you buy. If an allergy in your household is severe, the label is the authority and this app is not. The same goes for the halal and kosher settings: they exclude forbidden ingredients, and say nothing about sourcing, slaughter or certification.
Calorie and macronutrient figures are estimates calculated per recipe. They are not dietary advice and are not suitable for managing a medical condition.
Where is my data? Is there an account?
There is no account — no e-mail, no password, no sign-in. Your store, budget, household, diet, allergies, plan, favourites and the ticks on your shopping list are stored on your own phone, in the app's storage. We do not upload them and we hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to look up, restore or hand over. The full detail is in the Easy Mart Privacy Policy.
How do I turn ads off?
Open Account → Ads and pick one of three:
- Personalised — Google may use your activity across apps and sites to choose the ads. On iPhone this is the only choice that raises Apple's tracking prompt.
- Limited — ads use only the screen you are on, not a profile of you.
- No ads — nothing is requested at all: no ad appears anywhere in the app and no advertising identifier is read.
The app asks you the first time an ad would appear, and the choice can be changed as often as you like. Choosing No ads costs you nothing: the app keeps every feature, and the optional video that buys an extra plan rebuild simply stops being offered — the rebuild happens anyway.
How do I delete everything?
Two ways, both immediate and complete:
- Account → Reset the app — erases the preferences, the plan, the favourites and the list from the device.
- Uninstall the app — takes its storage with it.
Once it is gone from your phone it is gone: we never had a copy. To reset the advertising identifier your device gives to ads, use your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads). See also Delete Account & Data.
Can I send my list to a store's cart?
Not in this release. Easy Mart does not connect to a grocery account, so it never touches your cart, your order or your payment details. Picking a chain tells the app which prices to use and how to sort the aisles — nothing more.
What you can do is take the list with you: open the shopping list and tap Share my list to send it to Messages, Notes, someone else's phone, or anything else on yours. Ticking items off works offline, in the app. Easy Mart is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any retailer named in the app, and anything you buy is between you and that shop.
Where is Easy Mart available?
The United States only, in English. The store list, the prices, the units and the nutrition figures are all built for US shoppers.
