Publisher and scope

Information you use in the app

Audio and lyrics you import, artwork, local metadata edits, playlists and playback position.

Storage and protection

Structured records/preferences are encrypted at rest with SQLCipher using a random 256-bit key kept in device-only OS secure storage. Legacy plaintext databases migrate to a separately verified encrypted copy before the original is removed. Normal imported media/files remain OS-sandboxed copies without file-level encryption. A restored live database cannot open without its device key; use an explicit portable backup when changing devices. Explicit ZIP backup includes verified app-owned attachments and approved preferences; optional encrypted backup uses PBKDF2-SHA256 (600,000 iterations) and AES-256-GCM. Secrets, native grants, raw Screen Time data and permission opt-ins are excluded. Uninstall/device loss may lose local data.

Permissions and device features

You explicitly import audio and optional lyrics. Background playback uses operating-system media controls. No streaming catalog or lyric scraping is provided.

Network and sharing

The local core does not require an account or an app backend. Your content is not sent to a SmartnessHome server. Sharing and export send selected content to the destination you choose, under that destination’s terms and privacy practices.

Advertising and privacy choices

Google AdMob and its consent tools support sponsored public guides. Requests are non-personalized and publisher personalization is disabled. Google may process device/network information, advertising identifiers, ad interactions and diagnostics. Your private app records are not provided for ad targeting. Consent tools display choices when required for your circumstances; Advertising privacy choices lets you revisit available choices. The core app remains usable without accepting advertising tracking. Test versions use Google demonstration ads.

Notifications

Local reminders are scheduled on your phone and depend on permission, device settings and operating-system delivery. They do not need Firebase or a push server. Remote alerts, where explicitly connected, require a remote service and have no delivery guarantee.

Retention and deletion

Content stays on your device until you delete it or reset app content. Confirmed reset removes app records, app-owned files, app reminders and supported native snapshots. Installation age, rating-request history, ad frequency limits and an earned cosmetic unlock remain local. Advertising choices are managed separately through Google’s privacy tools. External originals, exports and backups are not deleted by reset. Losing a device, key or backup password can make content unrecoverable.

Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction or objection. You may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact contact@smartnesshome.com with the app name and request; contacting us does not upload your device database. We do not have a remote copy of local app content. Where applicable, you may opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising through available Advertising privacy choices, or contact us for help, and appeal a rights decision by replying to our response. We do not penalize users for exercising applicable rights.

Children, support and changes

The apps are not directed to children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information. Support correspondence contains the information you send us; do not send private documents, health records, passwords or vault keys. We update this policy when data handling changes. You may complain to the CNIL or another competent authority.
