Splitvote — Privacy Policy
Updated: November 7, 2026 · Applies to Splitvote for iPhone and Android, currently in development.
Splitvote has no account and no sign-in. What you create in the app is stored on your device, not on a publisher server. The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob, which are covered separately below.
Who publishes this app
Splitvote is published by SMARTNESS HOME, SAS (French simplified joint-stock company), 5 rue Agrippa d’Aubigné, 91090 Lisses, France, registered with the Evry Trade and Companies Register (RCS) under No. 829 550 185. Privacy and support contact: contact@smartnesshome.com.
What stays on your device
Splitvote stores the following in its own storage on your phone. We do not receive a copy.
- Players you add for a game (first names or nicknames) and their votes in that game.
- Your saved questions, answers in your stance journal and any arguments you choose to write down.
- Decision lists and their options, and the history of results.
- Settings: sound, haptics, reminders, appearance, any earned ad-free period, and local counters for ads and rating requests.
Permissions
Every permission is optional and asked for only when you use the feature that needs it. Refusing one does not stop the rest of the app from working.
- Notifications (optional): a reminder for the question of the day; it is a local notification without a push server.
Network use and servers
Questions are included in the app. Splitvote has no server: games, votes and journals never leave the device.
Splitvote does not include a publisher analytics or crash-reporting service, and it does not sell your personal information. Google’s advertising processing is described below.
Advertising
Splitvote uses Google AdMob to show ads: an ad when the app opens, occasional full-screen ads between activities, and ads placed within lists or screens. Watching an optional rewarded video turns ads off for 24 hours. Google may process device and app identifiers, IP-derived approximate location, ad views and interactions, and technical diagnostics for ad delivery, measurement, security and fraud prevention. Depending on the platform, device settings and Google’s processing, ads may be personalized.
Splitvote never attaches your app content to ad requests as targeting information. The app does not show an Apple App Tracking Transparency prompt, so it cannot read the iOS advertising identifier (IDFA); other processing by Google’s SDK can still occur.
Your advertising choices
On iPhone, system tracking controls are under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android, the advertising ID can be reset or deleted in the device’s privacy or ads settings. Google’s My Ad Center, its explanation of data use in partner apps and its privacy policy describe more choices. California residents can also read our Do Not Sell or Share notice.
Notifications and ratings
Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device; there is no push server. The app may ask Apple or Google to show the standard rating prompt; the store handles any rating you leave and the app never learns it.
Your controls
- Export: Journal → Data & privacy → Export my data creates a file you can save or share with the system share sheet.
- Erase: Journal → Data & privacy → Erase all data removes your content and settings from the app and cancels its reminders.
- Uninstalling the app removes its storage. Files you exported and device backups you control are separate and stay where you put them.
Children
Splitvote is not directed to children under 13, and ads are requested with a general-audience content rating. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact contact@smartnesshome.com and we will delete it.
Security
Your content is protected by your device’s security. Keep your phone locked with a passcode and its operating system up to date. iPhone backups you choose to make may include app data; Android automatic app-data backup is turned off for Splitvote.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, to object to or restrict its use, to receive a portable copy and to withdraw consent. We do not hold your app content on a server; use the app controls above to manage it. For information you sent us by email, write to contact@smartnesshome.com and name the app. For information Google processes for advertising, use Google’s controls linked above. You may also complain to the French data-protection authority, the CNIL, or another competent authority.
Changes and contact
We will update this policy when the app’s data handling changes, and change the date above. Contact: contact@smartnesshome.com · SMARTNESS HOME, 5 rue Agrippa d’Aubigné, 91090 Lisses, France.
